A select group of females are getting a head-start in the racing and thoroughbred breeding equine industry.
The Inverell Times reports Inverell High School Year 11 student Kimberly Wilson is one of 12 girls in the week-long camp at Scone, designed for students from Years 10-12 with a genuine passion for horses who are interested in pursuing a career in the equine industry.

Earlier this year, the Regional Industry Education Partnerships program was secured as an ongoing service for schools and industry to continue bridging the gap between students and employers.
It is a chance to gain entry-level equine industry skills and experience through practical training, classroom lessons, excursions, career talks and three work-experience mornings on a stud farm and racing stables.
According to Regional Industry Education Partnerships Walter Mansfield, the program is run once a year and is a joint collaboration alongside Racing NSW and Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association.
