The Inverell Highlander women’s team have gone down fighting in Saturday’s Central North Preliminary Final 22-15 loss to Pirates at Moree.
Women’s Coach Ashleigh Makim says in difficult, wet conditions, the girls fought hard right to the end but unfortunately couldn’t get the result, adding they should be proud of what they have achieved together.
Makim says the girls should hold their heads high and was very proud and excited for what lies ahead.
In 1st grade, Moree Bulls have booked a spot in Saturday’s Grand Final against the Quirindi Lions after they knocked out the Narrabri Blue Boars 44-35 while Moree have also qualified for the Reserve Grade grand final after they beat Quirindi 32-17.
