The Inverell and Tingha NAIDOC Celebrations, that were postponed in July, will kick off today with the annual Inverell Street March and Opening and Awards ceremony.
Those attending the march are advised to assemble at Armajun in Rivers St with the march to travel along Otho, Byron and Vivian Streets before proceeding to Victoria Park for the Ceremony and Community Fun Day.
The public are advised there will be minor disruption to traffic in the CBD with rolling street closures from 10:30am as the march proceeds with police escort from 1 Rivers St.
There are 10 NAIDOC Week Awards to be handed out including the main awards being the Aunty May Yarrowick Award, male and female Youth of the Year and the Elder of the Year.
