Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan is reminding locals and travellers Armidale and Uralla train stations will be closed from today (Wednesday 21 October) for six weeks to allow Transport for New South Wales to carry out rail infrastructure upgrades.
The stations will be closed until Wednesday 2 December, with train services resuming the following day.
Mr Moylan said the work is to prepare for the new Regional Rail Fleet.
“Alternative transport will be available during the closure,” Mr Moylan said.
“Replacement buses will run between Armidale and Tamworth stations and align with the existing timetables.”
Pick-up and drop-off will be at the stations, with passengers urged to arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled departure.
“If you require accessible transport or travel assistance contact NSW TrainLink on 13 22 32 to make arrangements,” Mr Moylan said.
“Plan ahead if you’re travelling during the closure and allow extra time.”
