Vickery’s Emotional Day Raises Big Money for Breast Cancer Groups

by | Dec 9, 2024 | Community | 0 comments

Local women Paige Vickery is recovering today after completing her 58 km fundraising run for the Inverell Breast cancer Support group and the National Breast cancer Foundation but is feeling overwhelmed by the community support.

Paige says the concept came about after her aunty Tania Swan was recently diagnosed with breast cancer so she committed to running for her and everyone else who has been diagnosed or affected by breast cancer.

Paige kicked off her run yesterday at 2am and had to combat a massive thunderstorm before reaching Bundarra and completing her run at 7:30.

She say at this stage, the event has raised over $20,000 for the Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group while almost $3000 was raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Paige says the wood auction was quite remarkable with several auction winners donating the wood back to be re-auctioned while still paying cash for the wood

The Bundarra Lions Club also contributed $5000 to the cause.
