The local rugby League and racing fraternity are coming to grips following the sudden passing of Paul Ehsman, who died on Monday afternoon.
Mr Ehsman, or Porky as he was known as, had several stints as President of the Inverell Hawks Rugby League Club, where he was bestowed life membership last year, served as Treasurer and President of the Inverell Jockey Club and was also President of the Inverell Minor League in the 80’s.
He also served a stint on the Board of STA FM.
One of his highlights as a horse owner was winning a race during Melbourne Cup week in 2020 with Berdebek and teaming up with Inverell trainer Wayne Oakenfull to claim the hometown cup with Renegade in 2022.
Paul is survived by wife June, son Matt, daughters Tania and Vicky and 8 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed.
