by | Dec 9, 2024 | Community, Police News | 0 comments

A motorcycle rider has died following a crash yesterday north of Glen Innes.

Shortly after 2:30pm, emergency services responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a utility on the New England Highway at Bolivia, 80km north of Glen Innes.

A male motorcycle rider died at the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services and is yet to be formally identified, while the driver of the utility was uninjured.

In another incident, a woman has died in a two-vehicle crash at South Guyra last Friday.

At about 10.30am, emergency services were called to The New England Highway at South Guyra following reports of a crash, and when Police attended the scene they found two SUVs – a Suzuki and Hyundai – had collided.

The driver of the Suzuki – a woman believed to be aged in her 30s – could not be revived and died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the Hyundai – a 20-year-old woman – and a six-month-old baby, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Armidale Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police attached to New England Police District have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As investigations commence on both incidents, police are urging anyone who may have witnessed either crash – or has any available dashcam or mobile phone footage – to contact New England Police or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
