The man accused of stabbing two retirees in their Torrington home last month has had additional charge laid against him.
The Northern Daily Leader reports 34-year-old Joshua Dylan Trethewey was expected to appear before a bail court yesterday, but his matter was not heard after police filed an additional charge.
Already facing two charges of wounding with intent to murder, Trethewey was also charged with aggravated break-and-enter with intent to wound after he alleged attack 75-year-old Keith and 72-year-old Dianne Blessing on June 4, stabbing Di in the chest and Keith in his abdomen.
Keith was able to call Triple 000 and then retrieve a firearm after the initial attack and shoot Tretheway which Premier Chris Minns labelled him a hero for his action.
Trethewey is yet to appear in a courtroom, or before a judge, and has not entered any pleas to the three charges.
