Four tries to Joven Moore has secured the Inverell Hawks third successive Group 19 Grand Final berth after they accounted for the Glen Innes Magpies 42-24 in the preliminary final at Varley Oval yesterday.
The Hawks dominated the first half to lead 28-6 with Glen Innes making too many ball handling errors but the Magpies managed to get back into the game early in the second half before the reigning premiers restored order to run away with a comfortable victory.
Hawks 1st grade coach Jamie McCormack says he’s happy the boys bounced back after last week’s major semi loss to Uralla adding they’re excited to back preparing for the big dance.
Meanwhile, Glen Innes Magpies first grade coach Nick Ehsman says his team played their worst game of the season adding their poor ball handling execution let the Hawks in to capitalise.
In other prelim finals played yesterday, Uralla outclassed Barraba Bulldogs 14-0 and the Inverell Hawkettes secure a Ladies League Tag grand final berth after they defeated Uralla Tigers 16-4.
This Sundays Grand finals at Woodville Oval in Uralla will see The Hawkettes face Glen Innes in Ladies League Tag, Inverell will play Uralla in Reserve grade while Uralla will host the Inverell Hawks in 1st grade.
