Keating Wants to Crack Down on Local Crime

by | Apr 4, 2025 | Police News | 0 comments

New Inspector at Inverell Police station Blake Keating has indicated there’ll be a higher presence of officers in town to address the crime issues.

Speaking on STA FM, Inspector Keating says he’ll be aiming for high visibility patrols in the town, better response times to incidents and working with other agencies to improve the safety of the community.

Inspector Keating says despite some issues, the Inverell station is a well-resourced station with general duties, detectives, forensics and highway patrol officers as well as a child abuse squad endeavouring to target criminals.

He explained calls are sometimes not acted on immediately due to other commitments that need to be addressed by officers adding police will prioritise jobs depending on the severity of the offence.
