The Inverell Jockey Club have elected a new committee following its annual general meeting held last month.
New President Sean Baldwin thanked outgoing President Peter Tanner and the former committee for the worked they did during their tenure and is looking forward to the upcoming racing season.
The season kicks off on October 17 with the annual Holy Trinity Race Day, followed by the Diggers Cup meeting on November 21st , the annual Boxing Day race meeting and Inverell Cup Day on January 1st.
Mr Baldwin says there is a change to Boxing Day with the committee deciding not to stage entertainment after the races citing the costs for entertainment and security to be at the event, suggesting the demand for the entertainment had dropped in previous years
