Players have come from Tasmania, Victoria and Bundaberg and most places in between to play in The New England Veteran’s Week of Golf which started in Inverell yesterday.
The winning pair with 47 points in the first event, a medley stableford, was Denis Dempsey from Redland Bay Golf Club and Michael Witney from the Beaudesert club.
The 1st runners up were Dick and Nancy Fuller from Byron Bay and Mullumbimby clubs, 2nd runners up were David Ayre and Ross Schalk from Uralla while the men’s winners were Russell Williams from Leongatha golf club, from Victoria, and Kevin Campbell from Inverell.
Today will see the start of the 36-hole stableford which will be completed on Wednesday after a rest day on Tuesday.
