Staggy Creek are the 2024/25 Inverell Cricket competition premiers after dismantling Square and Compass in Saturday’s rain reduced Grand Final at Varley Oval.
In a game that was reduced to 24 overs due to overnight rain, Staggy Creek amassed 9/151 with Mick Kenny top scoring with 40 with assistance from Paul Dailey with quick fire 28 and Jason Martin with 22.
Alex Hull was the pick of the bowlers with 3/21.
In reply, Compass made a reasonable start to be 2/59 after 13 overs but Staggy’s outstanding fielding and excellent bowling put pressure on the run chase to eventually be bowled out for 106.
Staggy’s Will Marshall the pick of the bowlers claiming 4/9 with Hollie Woodbury and Mick Kenny claiming two wickets a piece.
