Staggy Creek have demolished reigning premier Campbell and Freebairn Rebels by 8 wickets and advance to this weekend’s Inverell Cricket Competition Grand Final and a meeting with Square & Compass.
On a bowler’s wicket following recent rain, Mick Kenny with 4/16 and Henry Oliver with 3/13 ripped through the Rebels batting line-up to bundle them out for 52 with Dave Mudaliar top scoring with an unbeaten 25
In reply, Brendon Reynolds gave Rebels some hope reducing Staggy to 2/9 before Jason Martin and Mick Kenny steadied the ship, making light work of the run chase to reach the target losing only two wickets.
The grand final between Square & Compass and Staggy Creek promises to be a cracker as there’s nothing between the two teams leading into Saturday’s decider at Varley Oval
