The AFL Northwest competition takes a break this weekend to make way for representative football in Gunnedah tomorrow.
The Northwest Blue Heelers Men’s and Women’s squads will play the North Coast Force and Central West Eagles at Wolseley Oval with the men’s team to play its first representative game since 2018.
Inverell Saints’ men’s captain Ryan Lewis, Seb Blair, Jordan Sue-Fong, Ben Myler, Riley Sandral, Nash Tome and Blake Newman have been selected and will be led by former Saints coach Dick Gleeson while Saints women’s captain Clare McCosker, Sophie Kastelein, Jamie Pay and Chloe Taveira will pull on the Blue Heelers women’s guernsey.
Matches will kick off at 11am with the Women’s Blue Heelers team playing the Central West Eagles followed by their match against North Coast Force at 12 noon with the Northwest men to face North Coast at 2:20.
