Regional Workforce Planning – Allied Health and Nursing

by | Nov 22, 2024 | Media Release, Health | 0 comments

Hunter New England Central Coast PHN (HNECC PHN) invites our local health professionals to participate in a consultation series to help us better understand and address the unique workforce challenges facing our region.

This is a valuable opportunity to share your insights and help shape local strategies tailored to the needs of each community within the HNECC PHN region.

As part of the HNECC PHN 2023-2028 strategic plan, we are dedicated to building a clear picture of the local allied health and primary care nursing workforce to create informed, practical workforce plans.

If you are a Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Podiatrist, Psychologist, or Primary Care Nurse, they want to hear from you.

How to participate

HNECC PHN, in partnership with Beacon Strategies, will host a range of consultation opportunities for you to provide your input. You may choose to participate in any of the following ways:

  • Direct Phone Interviews: Share your thoughts in a one-on-one conversation at a time that works best for you.
  • This flexible option allows for an in-depth discussion tailored to your specific professional insights. To schedule a phone interview, please email daniel@beaconstrategies.net
  • Workshops: Join a structured, profession-specific workshop where your colleagues will engage in meaningful discussions regarding local workforce issues and potential solutions.
  • These sessions are designed to gather detailed feedback from each discipline, focusing on solutions that directly address your professional needs and local workforce challenges.
  • Survey: Using the link below, participate in the survey. The survey will capture critical data on workforce needs, issues, and potential solutions specific to each health profession.

The project in more detail

HNECC PHN has engaged Beacon Strategies, a consultancy specialising in health and social services, to conduct a comprehensive workforce planning initiative focused on the allied health professions and primary care nursing.

The objective is to assess workforce supply and demand, addressing the specific needs of each Local Government Area (LGA) in our region.

The insights gathered from this engagement process will directly inform workforce plans and contribute to a sustainable, skilled workforce strategy for the HNECC PHN region.

Your participation is crucial in developing a workforce plan that reflects the real-world challenges and opportunities you and your professions face.

We look forward to your contributions to building a stronger, more resilient healthcare workforce across our communities.
