Campbell & Freebairn Rebel have jumped to the top of the Inverell cricket competition points table after defeating Staggy Creek by 2 wickets at Varley Oval in Round 11 action on Saturday.
Despite Tom Nelson’s 82, Staggy posted a modest 7/170 with Steve Savage the pick of the bowlers with 3/31.
Brendan Reynolds’ 75 was key in the Rebels’ exciting run chase, guiding his team home to victory.
In the other game, a middle order collapse from Delungra, enabled Square & Compass to a comfortable win at McCosker 2.
Set 223 for victory, Delungra were reduced from 1/32 to 8/51 with Bogay Now collecting 4/27.
Father/son duo of Scott & Preston Leonard put together a 61 run partnership which was a highlight for Delungra.
