A contingent of local racing enthusiasts have arrived in Sydney to see if they can claim the $1 million Country Championships final at Randwick racecourse tomorrow.
Trainer Todd Payne and a strong contingent of 28 people will be hoping that Lisztomania will claim one of the big races on Day 1 of the championships.
Listztomania has been to Randwick on 5 occasions and has not missed a place from those outings and for Payne, this will be his first runner in a Country Championships
Speaking to STA FM this week, Payne says it would be a life changing moment if his 6 year old gelding was to win the Country Championships Final adding depending how he runs on Saturday, they might aim him for the $2 million The Kosciuszko in October.
Lisztomania has drawn barrier 6 for tomorrow’s race with Payne confident of a good showing with his horse expected to be making a late charge.
