Local athletes have performed well at the All-School Track and Field National championships at the Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre, Mt Gravatt, from this Friday with one being crowned National champion in his age group.
Inverell High School student Jack Partridge claimed the U15s Shot Put and Discus title, winning with a throw of 16.37 metres in the shotput and then taking out the discus with a throw of 58.53 metres.
Meantime MacIntyre High school student Conna Bowndes claimed a podium finish in the U15s Shot put event finishing 3rd with a throw of 15.64 metres, resulting in two local students dominating the event.
Meantime, middle distance runner Dustin Uebergang finished a respectable 7th the 16 boys 400m final and received a silver medal in the mixed 4 x 400 metres event
