Northern Tablelands Local Land Services is encouraging landholders to consider pest animal control during the current dry period.
The Service’s Northern Tablelands General Manager Paul Hutchings says they’ve heard a lot about feral pigs and deer challenges during the good season but adds whilst it’s dry, there’s an opportunity to get on top of those pest animal issues.
Mr Hutchings says pest animals are looking for feed which could put grazing pressure on farms, resulting in ess feed for domestic livestock
He says the culling of deer and pigs in a coordinated fashion is the best option to control numbers
