Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan has been embroiled in a heated debate on Thursday after bringing a petition to reject the new transmission line corridor Walcha to Bayswater to Parliament on behalf of more than 22,000 signees and communities across Northern Tablelands and Upper Hunter.
During his speech on the floor of State Parliament last Thursday, Mr Moylan says the proposed transmission line corridor route cuts through more than 100 privately owned farms and some of the very best agricultural land in NSW.Mr
Moylan highlighted not only did Premier Chris Minns refuse to speak, he didn’t even show up, and his government chose not to participate.
He pointed out that the Government had previously rejected this route as unviable and questioned why if this route was wrong in 2024, what miracle has occurred that suddenly makes it right today.
Mr Moylan says apart from Emergency Minister Jihad Dib presence, the government had did not make the effort to debate the issue which left him seething.
