A former Inverell resident has been refused bail after pleading not guilty to several domestic violence charges, as well as a driving offence.
The Northern Daily Leader reports 38-year-old Joel Michael Fleming faces several charges following an incident in January where he’s accused of intentionally choking a person without consent; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; common assault; stalking or intimidating; destroying or damaging property that is less than $2000; and knowingly driving a vehicle in a manner that menaces another.
Fleming has been charged with 9 offences in total as he was also charged with other similar offences that allegedly took place in September 2023 and December last year.
The matter has been adjourned to July.
