A man has appeared in court yesterday charged over an alleged ram raid targeting a business in Glen Innes.
About 11:30pm last Tuesday, December 17, police were called to a petrol station on Ferguson Street, Glen Innes, and found a vehicle had reversed into the front doors.
Officers attached to New England Police District found extensive damage to the front of the business and obtained CCTV where they identified a station wagon – which had been reported stolen from Glen Innes the day before – as being involved in the ram raid.
Following inquiries, police on Saturday arrested an 18-year-old man, where he was taken to Glen Innes Police Station and was charged with four offences, including 2x counts of steal motor vehicle, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – armed, and destroy or damage property.
He was refused bail and appeared via Audio Visual Link at Parramatta Local Court yesterday.
Investigations are continuing.
