by | Feb 5, 2025 | Police News, Media Release | 0 comments

A 29-year-old woman is believed to have been involved in a knife incident at an Inverell supermarket on Monday night.

About 8pm, officers attached to New England Police District were called to a supermarket on Byron Street, following reports of a fight.

Officers were told a 29-year-old woman, allegedly armed with a knife, had threatened a 36-year-old woman inside the store.

Police escorted two women – aged 29 and 36 – outside and upon searching, allegedly located a knife on the younger woman.

She was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station where she was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and custody of knife in public place.

She was initially refused bail and fronted Inverell Local Court yesterday.
