New England MP Barnaby Joyce hasn’t completely ruled out a run at the Nationals leadership again following reports that he was going to be hidden by the party ahead of the upcoming federal election.
It had been reported that a new rule requiring the party’s shadow ministers to get permission from leader David Littleproud to travel to other electorates had been imposed, believed to have been aimed at Mr Joyce.
Speaking on STA FM, Mr Joyce says he respects that everything needs to go through the leader’s office but doesn’t know how effective the new rule will be adding he will let history be the judge of his efficacy and campaigning over his time in parliament.
Asked whether he would run again for the leadership of the Nationals, Mr Joyce responded with an unconvincing no adding he would concentrate on his electorate.
