Joyce Airs Concerns for the Nation

by | Jun 19, 2025 | Politics | 0 comments

New England MP Barnaby Joyce has expressed his concerns about the current conflicts around the world and Australia’s ability to protect itself from foreign takeover.

In a social media post, Mr Joyce says the nation’s report card wasn’t good, noting US President Donald Trump not having the time to meet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the G7 meeting in Canada to discuss the AUKUS deal while the Chinese Communist Party have been conducting live fire exercises in the Tasman Sea off Sydney.

My Joyce added Australia’s energy supplies are under threat with the rise in conflicts around the world and the government is considering selling off one of our two major gas suppliers, SANTOS, to a 100% foreign owned consortium, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.

He says with two oil refineries left and coal fired power stations being shut down, extra pressure is being put on our aluminium and cement industries adding it is not looking like we’re ready for the distinct possibility of a new dark world descending on us.
