Hundreds have turned out for the Inverell Community Violence Prevention Team Annual Street March Against Violence in Inverell this afternoon.
Escorted by police, marchers proceeded down Vivian St, onto Byron St, Down Otho St and back to Victoria Park via Rivers St to then engage in a FREE BBQ in the park.
The event has launched the beginning of a calendar of events put together by the ICVPT to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that runs from today, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.
