New research has revealed that Inverell is in the top 10 most dangerous Local Government Areas to be at night – in terms of crime and its victims.
9 News reports Astor Legal crunched the numbers on the NSW Bureau of Crime and Statistic’s records for October 2023 to September 2024 to establish which NSW Local Government Areas have the most dangerous nights per head, and which have the safest.
According to the data, Inverell recorded 1302.5 incidents per 100,000 people at night, coming in at 9th most dangerous around the state.
Moree Plains and Walgett Local Government Areas were ranked the most dangerous in NSW while Ku-Ring-Gai Local government area was named the safest.
The main category of criminal offence occurring between the hours of 6 pm and 6 am around the state is domestic violence-related assault, followed closely by non-domestic violence-related assault.
