Police are appealing for information following reports of a serious assault in Inverell over the weekend.
Officers attached to New England Police District were called to a home on Lang Street on Saturday 7 December, following reports of a serious assault, and when officers attended the scene, they were told a woman in her 20s was in Apex Park, Inverell, about 7pm on Saturday, when she was grabbed from behind and assaulted.
The woman returned to a home on Lang Street, and called police, where she was then taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with Officers releasing an image on their social media pages of a pair of shorts which are missing.
