Hughes Reminds Electorate of Labour’s Project Delivery to New England

by | Apr 3, 2025 | Politics | 0 comments

Labour candidate for the New England at the upcoming Federal Election Laura Hughes says her party is investing where it matters—and she will keep standing up for every corner of the electorate.

Last January, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Catherine King, announced nearly $80 million in funding through Labor’s Growing Regions Program.

Ms Hughes highlighted the New England was a key beneficiary with funding announced for four projects in the region including over $550,000 for enhancements to Lake Inverell, $600,000 for the ANZAC Park Playground Upgrade, $8.2 million for the Angry Bull Trails Adventure Tourism Destination at Tenterfield and $9 million for the Northern Inland Aquatic, Education and Health Centre of Excellence at Tamworth,

She says these projects mean more than infrastructure—they’re about strengthening communities, creating jobs, boosting tourism, and improving everyday life for families across our region.
