An injury ravaged Inverell Highlanders have gone down swinging 54-29 against the Narrabri Blue Boars at Rugby Park in Central North Rugby weekend results on Saturday.
1st grade coach Gemma Noller says the scoreline didn’t reflect how close the game was but was impressed with some of her players who played some of the best footy of the season.
Noller says it’s a good sign for her side coming into finals as they still haven’t played their best footy yet and is looking forward to the business end of the season.
In other Round 16 matches, Moree Bulls held onto to beat the Gunnedah red Devils 35-28 while Quirindi defeated Pirates in Tamworth 43-36.
The Highlanders were defeated by the Narrabri Blue Boars in both the Reserve grade and Women’s competitions, going down 59-14 and 61-15 respectively.
