Gwydir Shire Council has introduced a further water trial for Warialda after an initial water saving trial was deemed successful by Council
Water restrictions were implemented in the town before Christmas with Council staff hand watering plants in the public gardens around Warialda
Last week, an automated watering system was implemented for the Rec Ground, Captain Cook Park, Plunkett Place, Caravan Park, Visitor information Centre and All Abilities Park which Council deemed successful and have moved to introduce a further trial.
The trial will see fixed sprinklers at even street number houses used from 8 to 10pm Monday and Wednesdays while odd street number houses can use their fixed sprinklers Thursdays and Saturdays between 8 and 10pm.
The trial will be reviewed weekly and if issues arise with the water supply, Council may suspended the trial.
Meantime Warialda’s water supply is now deemed safe to drink following the latest PFAS testing conducted earlier this month.
