The Group 19 Rugby League season gets underway this weekend with eight teams going around in the 1st grade competition following confirmation the Armidale Rams and Bingara Bullets won’t be fielding teams this year.
But the recent wet weather has forced league officials to transfer tomorrow’s match between the Inverell Hawks and Uralla Tigers from Varley Oval to Uralla.
Matches will kick off at 12 noon with the Juniors at 12 noon followed by the Ladies league Tag and then the 1st grade match
Hawks 1st grade coach Jamie McCormack says they’ll be wary of Uralla who’ve had a solid pre-season
On other matches, reigning premiers Warialda Wombats host the Tingha Tigers at the Rec Ground while Narwan faces the Moree Boomerangs.
On Sunday, the Glen Innes Magpies return to the fold after being in hiatus for a few seasons and tackle the Walcha Roos at Meade Park.
