Gwydir Shire Council advises that the Gravesend boil water alert issued last month has been lifted and the water supply is now safe to drink.
The boil water alert was issued on the 31st of March due to the runoff into the Gwydir River that caused problems for water treatment, making drinking water in Gravesend potentially unsafe.
Gwydir Shire Council have resolved the issue and water testing results over the recent days have indicated the water treatment process is under control and the water is now safe to drink.
Council state they’ll continue to test and monitor water supplies and inform the community if water quality parameters cannot be maintained.
