Drought conditions continued to improve in the Northern Tablelands Local Land Services region following the release of the latest state seasonal update.
The Combined Drought Indicator shows approximately 2% of the region being in the Drought Affected category at the end of October.
The reports details areas in the Non-Drought or Recovery categories has continued to increase over the last several months, with a transition into the Recovery category of the Combined Drought Indicator for areas north of Glen Innes and Inverell since the end of September.
It states warm temperatures and soil moisture will be a management consideration entering summer while rainfall in October was generally average across the region and continued to aid in the improvement in conditions.
The NSW Combined Drought Indicator shows that approximately 91% of NSW is in the Non-Drought or Recovery categories at the end of October 2024.
