A Uralla mother’s plea to have a driver’s licence reinstated has been denied by Armidale Magistrate Mark Richardson after a court appearance on Monday.
The Northern Daily Leader reports Dimity Turner had her licence immediately suspended after she was clocked driving at 135 km/h on the New England Highway.
A request was made by Turners’ solicitor to overturn the suspension so she could be able to drive her son to school in Armidale and also retain her job.
Magistrate Richardson could not find no reason to return Ms Turners licence despite her solicitors’ request but did reduce the sentence from 6 months to 6 weeks, meaning Ms Turner will be able to legally drive from March 3rd.
