The Deepwater Jockey Club are expecting a big crowd to join them in celebrating 160 years of racing at their annual Cup meeting tomorrow.
66 acceptors have been received by the club for the meeting with 8 runners to contest the Deepwater Cup with local hopes lying with the Todd Payne trained Shamedy.
Trainers from QLD and northern NSW will converge on the track in a bid to take home some of the prizemoney on offer on the 7-race card which kicks off at 1:10pm
Off the track, a big attraction this year will be the Fashions on the Field with categories including Contemporary Racewear – Female, Best Dressed Gent, Most Elegant Lady, Junior Race Goer and Most Stylish Couple with a total prize pool of cash and vouchers worth $4,700.
Meantime, the official Deepwater Cup Calcutta will take place tonight at the Deepwater Hotel Top Pub from 7pm
