After winning his first TAB Highway on the weekend, Inverell trainer Todd Payne is eyeing a berth in the Country Championships Final at Randwick on April 5 with his horse Lisztomania.
Payne says after the brilliant victory on Saturday, he’ll prepare the 6-year-old chestnut for the Hunter Northwest Country Championship race at Tamworth on March 9.
He says the horse will need to run top 2 in Tamworth to get a berth in the $1 million final on the first day of the Championships.
Payne says Lisztomania will improve from last Saturdays run and confidence levels are high.
