Council’s Strategic Plans on Public Exhibition

by | Apr 28, 2026 | Finance, Local Government, Media Release

Following Council’s endorsement at this month’s Ordinary Council Meeting, Inverell Shire Council advises that the Draft 2026–2027 Operational Plan and Budget, Draft 2026–2027 Fees and Charges, and Draft 2026–2036 Long‑Term Financial Plan are now on public exhibition.

These key documents form an essential part of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting framework, guiding annual service delivery, financial sustainability and the cost structure for Council provided services.

The Operational Plan and Budget outlines in detail the projects, programs and activities Council will deliver over the next financial year, including required resources, allocated budgets, responsible departments and performance measures to ensure accountability.

The Fees and Charges schedule sets out the costs associated with specific services provided by Council for the 2026–2027 financial year.

The Long‑Term Financial Plan provides a ten‑year financial outlook, forecasting Council’s income, expenditure and long‑term commitments. It serves as a key decision‑making tool to support responsible budgeting and ensure the ongoing financial sustainability of Council operations.

Mayor Cr Kate Dight said, “We invite residents and stakeholders to examine these documents and share their views. Your feedback plays a crucial role in guiding the future of our Shire and ensuring Council’s plans align with community priorities.”

In accordance with Section 405 of the Local Government Act 1993, the documents are available for public review at Council’s Administration Building, 144 Otho Street, and on Council’s website at inverell.nsw.gov.au

Submissions close at 4:30pm, Friday 22 May 2026.

Inverell Shire Council values community engagement and welcomes feedback to help guide future planning and decision‑making.
