The NSW Rural Fire Service Northern Tablelands Team are keeping an eye on the weather and fire conditions that are prevailing at the moment.
Angus McDowell from the NSW RFS says while pleasant conditions have been experienced at the start of the year, cold fronts that bring hot air with them may result in the landscape drying out, raising concerns of outbreaks in fire.
Mr McDowell says planning is key when preparing for potential fires in the region during the hotter months.
He says landholders should not have a Bushfire Survival Plan ready but also conduct basic tasks around their property.
