Central North Rugby Lose Scone Brumbies

by | Feb 7, 2025 | Sport | 0 comments

The Central North Rugby Competition will have 6 first grade men’s teams running around this year following the departure of the Scone Brumbies to the Hunter Rugby Union Suburban competition.

Central North President James Kahl says there had been whispers about the Brumbies leaving the competition, only getting confirmation in the past few weeks, and is extremely disappoint ed at the timing of their departure during the pre-season.

Mr Kahl says after the Walcha Rams did the same thing last year, having Scone to the same thing is very inconvenient, labelling it selfish and rude

Mr Kahl says Clubs will decide on an amended draw which he expects will be determined and ratified by tomorrow morning.

The 2025 1st grade season will incorporate the Inverell Highlanders, Tamworth Pirates, Narrabri Blue Boars, Moree Bulls, Gunnedah Red Devils and Quirindi Lions with the Barraba Rams again only fielding a 2nd Grade team
