Former Wallaby and Inverell Highlander Jock Campbell has been named captain of the QLD Reds for their clash against the visiting British & Irish Lions tonight at Suncorp stadium.
Campbell has been named at fullback for the clash which features nine Wallabies and two All Blacks.
He says one-off special events like this game against the Lions do stand out, remembering watching the Wallabies / Lions Test at Suncorp in 2013 when he was still at school, adding it has taken this long to come around where he gets a chance to play them.
This comes after Campbell signed a new one-year contract with the Reds that will extend his 93 game career into 2026 adding he’s aiming to reach 100 games for the Reds which he says was a big factor in his considerations.
