The 70th Inverell Sporties Easter Bowls Carnival has concluded, bringing an end to 4 days of friendly competitive bowls.
Inverell trio of Phil Ross, Darren Hungerford and former local Ashley Gentz took home the first prize of $5400 after claiming the Open 3 Bowl Triples on Saturday.
The Ballina pair of Ross McNamara and Damian Loone claimed the Pairs event yesterday, taking home $5000 defeating the RSM Clubs’ bowls pair of Doug Newton and Marcus McCosker in a sea sawing match up.
Despite fluctuating weather conditions which saw sunshine, drizzle, thunder and lightning over the four days, organisers say the event was once again successfully held.
