Bingara’s Orange Festival has been labelled the biggest ever with around 3000 people attending the annual event.
The event got some national coverage on Saturday with former local Bingara Central school student and now Seven Network National News director Hugh Whitfield spotlighting the event on morning T.V.
Gwydir Shire Mayor Tiffany Galvin says the festival which incorporates the Orange picking ceremony on Friday followed by the street carnival on Saturday had visitors from as far as Victoria and QLD in attendance.
Mayor Galvin says the vintage cars, market stalls, rock ‘n’ roll dancers as well as the rodeo and fireworks were all spectacular which matched the weather on Saturday.
