Most local schools are set to begin the schooling year today following the festive season break.
Staff have already commenced the schooling year, preparing to welcome back students into classrooms for Term 1.
MacIntyre High, Inverell High, Ross Hill Public, Inverell Public, Gilgai Public, Gum Flat Public, Tingha Public, and Bundarra Central Schools will have their students walk back into classes today.
Holy Trinity students went back to school on Monday while Ashford Central School students commence the school year next Thursday.
Motorists are reminded of the 40km speed limit in school zones operating between 8–9.30am and 2.30–4pm.
