The Dave Kearsey coached Australian Men’s Deaf Rugby team have fallen short at the World Sevens championships in Tokyo, going down to England in the final yesterday.
After knocking over Samoa in the Quarter Final 37-5 and then tournament favourite Fiji in the semi-final 31-14, Australia didn’t measure up to England in the final going down 45-5.
England were the only team to defeat Australia in the preliminary rounds.
Although disappointed not winning the tournament, Kearsey says he couldn’t fault his teams’ resolve adding the experience to coach the national team was an absolute honour.
It wasn’t all bad news for the Aussies with the Women claiming the World Cup after defeating England in the final 31-14
