New England MP Barnaby Joyce expects Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to announce this Sunday that Australians will go to the polls for the federal election on April 12th.
Speaking on STA FM yesterday, Mr Joyce says only the Prime Minister knows when the election will be held but admitted to having a sneaky feeling that he won’t be going back to Canberra after the recent parliamentary sittings finished last week.
Mr Joyce says he pushed for politicians to go back to Canberra for a budget and debate issues relating to the budget but believes Mr Albanese recent responses to Mr Joyce’s recommendations suggest they won’t be going back.
He says things a pointing to an April 12 election.
