Central North Rugby officials and teams have agreed to an amended draw for the 2025 season after the Scone Brumbies dropped a bomb on the competition last week to leave the competition and play in a Hunter competition.
Central North Rugby President James Kahl says the new draw will see teams, who were scheduled to play Scone, have a bye.
Mr Kahl says logistics to set up a new draw had it’s pitfalls saying officials had to select the most convenient option that had minimal disturbances to teams who had already planned events during the season.
He says the competition executive and teams are already in talks to play more games next year which may involve teams playing each other three times.
This year’s competition will involve the Inverell Highlanders, Tamworth Pirates, Moree Bulls, Gunnedah Red Devils, Quirindi Lions and reigning premiers Narrabri Blue Boars.
