The Emmaville community is mourning the loss of a well-respected figure who was a driving force behind the Emmaville Mining Museum.
Roy Wells, a proud World War Two veteran and one of the most respected elders in the region, has passed away aged 102.
In 2022, Mr Wells officially opened the Military Room at the museum alongside then-State MP Adam Marshall, featuring hundreds of items of local war memorabilia which remains an important part of the museum’s collection.
A year later, Mr Wells celebrated his 100th birthday among family and friends
His funeral will be held on Monday 14th July at St. Pauls Anglican Church at Emmaville at 11am with members of the Glen Innes RSL Sub-Branch especially invited to attend wearing service medals.
