Inverell auctioneer Darcy Brennan from Lehman Stock & Property has gained selection into next year’s Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association national competition after finishing up runners up in the NSW Young Auctioneers Competition on Friday at the Sydney Showgrounds.
The competition was taken out by Manilla’s Michael Purtle of Purtle Plevey Agencies, earning him the John Weekes Memorial Shield.
The ALPA’s National Young Auctioneers Competition was taken out by Matthew Pearce from GDL Rural at Emerald
ALPA CEO Peter Baldwin praised the competitors, saying livestock auctioneering is a time-honoured and specialised skill and they proudly showed the world just what talent Australia possess amongst their young industry professionals.
Mr Baldwin says the ALPA is incredibly proud of the skills and tenacity displayed by all of the young auctioneers who not only stamped their authority on the podium but delivered the highest and best price outcomes for their vendors.
